A classifieds service for the Trondheim area. My mission has been to correct errors in the script that was bought for this webpage.

Digital kjøttkontroll is a database with known problems that can occur on diffrent kinds of livestock. These pages were first developed by students at HiNT (my old school) as a projects used in their education. My task has been to convert these pages from ASP+Acces to PHP+MySQL, update the pages, and correct some of the errors in the original script.

This client was created for Steinkjer municipal and was created as an alternative to the solutions they have been using earlier. It was never developed further than the prototype stage, as Bravida Geomatikk division Steinkjer was closed down.

The application contains functionality for extracting information about real estate and place of resident, and also combining this information to create more comprehensive reports.

One of the most interesting functions, is taht it is possible to fint the cross-section between a property and area class. This means that you could select an area consisting of spruce forest inside a property. If you click in this area, the selected segment will be cut at the end of the property. This functionality does also make it possible to create reports on what classes of areas you can find within a given property.

A pre-project test application made for the SkoleGIS (Norwegian text) project that is about to start. The goal of this project is to introduce GIS as a helping tool in school. By letting students use this service, they might themselves browse the map, select a point at the map, and add a point of interest with more information. This point could then be read by other students at the same school. If the other student finds this interesting, he could select this point, and add comments to it. Portal created for Steinkjer municipality with a presentation of their department of municipal forest. This project was developed as part of my job at Bravida Geomatikk.

This is a map portal that was used for the international bear conference. The resulting project is freely available online.

So what have I done? My main task were to design the look of the page. When I completed this design, we found that we were missing some features. As I have worked some on Java and applets before, I got to do this task. The applet received a lot of new features that we needed for this specific portal. The ambition level was as usual very high, and all details weren't schetched out at the start of the project. The old portal that were used earlier didn't have the required features for this project. Some of the functions I added, was support for several languages (only Norwegian was available earlier), implementation of tooltips in a version of Java which does not support this and drawing of lines between points of interest. Under the implementation of these functions I found several errors in the original version of the applet. These error were of course corrected, and the end result was an application which were more stable than the original one.

When these function were completed, the rest of the page had to be updated. Various solutions were discussed in order to get as good functionality as possible while usability was as good as possible. In addition I helped in designing the information windows, and to write a whole bunch of SQL. The end result was something we can stand for in the future.

A school project. Contains several advanced functions like webmail, chat, image gallery and an advanced administration system.

As the employer did nto know a lot about web programming himself, we created an administration interface. Through this interface it is easy for anyone to enter texts and similar which will then be available on the main pages.

On request from the employer we created a chat system. For anyone to enter this interface, he would have to have a valid account on these pages. In addition the administrator will have to approve the account. This to avoid misuse of this service.

The webmail system was developed by me alone, and contains a socket connection against a mail server. All parsing of data was done by my own scripts. We aimed for a mail system almost as functional as SquirrelMail and in addition support html-messages, a function which SquirrelMail does not have. These goals were reached, and the end result was a system easily integratable into any system, and at the same time be easily configurable.

During the development process we had several request on the design of the pages, like changing all colors on the page to greyscales. This request were done becouse of the black and white logo that they are using (top right in the screenshots). We and several others thought that this gave the pages a boring look, but as it was the wish of the emplyer, we had no choice but to obey their wishes.

Please note that these pages are currently not the pages that we originally created, and does not reflect upon the quality of the work that we did then.

A page I created for HiNT, my old school. The idea was to collect information on all student which have taken the MPA course. Many details on these students can be added to the system. The system works by adding a group of names and email addresses in the administration interface. The next step is to send mail to all these students using the same system. Names and mail addresses can be changed for all persons in the list automatically. When one of the students has received the mail, they are give a web address where they may reach their personal web pages. When accessing this address, thay can set a username and password so that they can add information on themselves. All this information is also available in the administration interface in case of a forgotten password. This project does also contains lots of functionality that was hard to coordinate. The system implemented for mass-mailing turned out so good that I will probably use it in later projects.

My first paid project for a page created using PHP. This page is really nothing more than just a database of cars and some information on these. Every car have a small image and several large.

Through the administration interface it is possible to define which cars that should appear on the front page, and the text for the rest of the pages. This interface became so easy to use that anyone can add new cars, and that was also the reason why I had such success with this project.
